Waterwise Groundcovers
Waterwise groundcovers are an easy and affordable way to keep your garden beds moist and cool.
Here are some of our favourites, available at a branch near you.
- Silver arctotis is a sun-loving groundcover with silvery grey foliage. It produces cream to yellow coloured flowers in spring and is idea for coastal gardens as it can withstand sandy soils and salty winds.
- Trailing gazania has green leaves and produces yellow flowers all year round. It likes a sunny spot with well-draining soil.
- Vygies are sun-loving plants that produce blooms in a multitude of colours in spring. They like well-draining soil and can withstand periods of drought, making them an excellent choice for the hottest areas of your garden, such as rockeries or next to paving stones.
- Plectranthus is an evergreen groundcover that fares best in shady areas. They flower in autumn and do best if planted under trees and shrubs in well-composted soil.
