How to take care of your Hamster

You will need the following before you purchase a hamster :

• A fair sized cage
• Suitable bedding (wood based pellets)
• A house, boot or barrel somewhere where hammy can hide/sleep
• Snuggle stuff
• Water bottle
• Food Bowl
• Exercise wheel, Ball/tubing
• Tonic
• Vitamins

Caring for your hamster :

• Fresh water daily
• A healthy diet
• Fresh vegetables chopped into small pieces served in a separate bowl and removed if not eaten
• Make sure the doors are securely fastened!
• Change the bedding when necessary
• If you are unsure of anything, ask your Stodels Pet expert for advice

When you bring your little friend home allow your Hamster time to adjust to its new home (cage).  When you want to hold your hamster, sit inside an empty bath with a blanket, this way when you handle it by gently allowing it to pass from one hand to another, it can’t run away from you and you can handle it safely as all rodents can run very fast!!!
